Innovation in Education Awards

The Classroom of the Future Foundation created the Innovation in Education Awards Program to showcase innovative classroom initiatives that inspire students toward greater academic achievement. Since 2004, these awards recognized 41 programs from 18 school districts. CFF has granted over $130,000 for major awards and 9 Blu-ray DVD players to honorable mentionprograms. Nominations are solicited in the winter and awards selected by a jury of CFF board members and educators in the spring. At the CFF Annual Event in May, the award recipients are honored and video profiles of each award program are presented.

The Innovation in Education Awards Program includes the following categories:

• The inspire award illustrates the unique attributes of a program that gets kids excited about learning. This award specifically focuses on the program characteristics responsible for increasing student interests and enhancing student learning.
• The innovate award showcases the creative innovations of a program that facilitates enhanced learning. This award specifically focuses on the uniqueness of the “program actions” that increase student interest and drive achievement.
• The achieve award demonstrates the tangible program results that drive student learning. This award specifically focuses on the “program evidence” that directly correlates to positive student outcomes.
• The impact award is a best-of-show award given to the one program that best embodies all three attributes: inspire, innovate and achieve.

In addition, the jury may designate several programs as worthy of recognition as Honorable Mentions.
